Knock knock. Who's there? Your new job, that's who!

Networking Strategies

The thought of networking strikes fear into some job seekers. The trick is doing it in a way that's do-able for you. Job search coaching helps you design a not-so-scary networking plan, then supports you as you experiment and refine your approach. You're in the driver's seat. We can work on how/where to spend your efforts, refine your elevator pitch, and build your comfort and confidence. Ultimately, career development requires one's ability to quickly summarize who you are, what you're looking for, and how you can quickly make a difference.

Resumes and Cover Letters

Every resume needs to tell the right story for the right opportunity. This is especially important during career transition or an ambitious step-up. Your resume (and possibly a cover letter) will need to ensure a recruiter logically connects your past experience with your target job. There are solid strategies that increase your odds. Let's work on these together!

LinkedIn Profile Help

If you haven't been in the job market for many years (or even if you have,) it's likely that your LinkedIn profile is not optimized to organically draw the right kind of attention from recruiters. Worse yet, it may not be drawing ANY attention.

Headlines in profiles are notoriously clogged with wasted business monikers like "Thought Leader" and "Innovator." Put yourself in the shoes of a recruiter looking to find a "Senior Director of Marketing" or "Information Security Analyst." Your profile will not be on the radar, despite your past job titles. Same with the "About" section. LinkedIn gives you 2400 glorious characters to load with the keywords recruiters hunger for in their candidate searches. "Storyteller," "dream weaver," and "pace setter" are not among them. Profiles like these are fine for someone NOT needing to be found by recruiters, but if you're in the market for work, it's important to make LinkedIn work for you. LinkedIn profile help is right here.

Interview Coaching Services

Selling yourself in an interview is remarkably simple, but nailing it regardless of how good (or bad) the interviewer is takes practice. Interview coaching is the answer, preparation and  practice make perfect. We'll work together to prepare you with  succinct, laser-focused answers to showcase your value and to handle the tricky subjects you dread with ease. Some examples are interviewing for a job that's a stretch, explaining gaps in your employment, or justifying your fit for an industry that's not on your resume. Interview coaching services can be provided on its own, or as part of your customized career coaching journey.

Follow-Up Strategies

Too often, job search coaching ends after interview preparation. Once you nail your interview, keep working to close the deal! We will plan your best approach for appropriate post-interview follow-up with recruiters, hiring managers, and senior decision-makers. Keep the momentum going all the way to your start date!

Navigating & Negotiating the Offer

When should I talk about compensation? Should I even bring it up? How should I state my expectations without ending the discussion? How can I keep the door open for continued negotiations if initial numbers aren't aligned? What other options can I explore with the employer to accomplish my objectives? For complex roles and offers, advising you on the the written terms and conditions of an offer is best done by legal counsel. Career coaching however can help you navigate and negotiate these conversations with your future employer.

Career Development

If you're not currently working a full schedule, you have a great opportunity that most others don't: time! Broaden your skills in the interim to enhance your resume and your marketability. Together we'll generate ideas, set goals, find resources and I'll support you along the way.

Job search coaching to get you more prepared than you've ever been.

Networking? Negotiating an offer? Maybe all you need is a career coach to help you practice interviewing and provide feedback.
