Unless you were bequeathed a trust fund, or won the Powerball jackpot, you probably still need to work. Having a crappy job or a poopy boss sucks the joy out of life, and even if neither are terrible, you may want more from your career. Better money and benefits. More challenging projects. Increased influence. Flexibility to work from home in your onesie, or from an Airbnb in Schenectady.
Or maybe you want a new career with an organization whose mission is better in sync with what you value most. I get it! In my early 20s I worked in public health, driving around town to locate possible syphilis patients whom I’d convince to come in to a clinic for testing and treatment. No shade, syphilis survivors!
Or maybe you’ve got big time chutzpah? You’re ready to be an entrepreneur, or even start a whole new career on your 60th birthday and bring that hustle with you into retirement.
It could also be that you don’t even know what you want. You just know this isn't it.
